At IBS Precision Engineering, sustainability is a responsibility we take seriously. We are committed to creating a lasting positive impact on the environment, society and the economy by integrating sustainable practices into all aspects of our operations.

Although we are not directly subject to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), many of our clients are and we hold ourselves to the same high standards. Our sustainability strategy is built on the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME) and reflects our long-term dedication to responsible business conduct.

Sustainability at IBS is guided by three principles: economic resilience, social equity and environmental care. Through technical innovation and continuous improvement, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint while supporting our employees, customers and the communities we serve.

Sustainability icons - overview
In recent years, we have made significant progress. Our facilities now operate entirely on certified green wind energy, complemented by the installation of 225 solar panels to generate renewable power on-site. All lighting has been upgraded to energy-efficient LEDs, our halls are heated using electric heat pumps and our company fleet is transitioning to hybrid and electric vehicles. New triple-insulated, solar-ready roofs further improve our energy performance and together these measures represent important steps towards a more sustainable operation.

06.5 Sus 4-Circular economy

Looking ahead, we have set clear goals for the coming years. We aim to reduce our CO₂ emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and continue investing in our Green Facilities Program. Circular economy principles are embedded in our operations, from designing products for reusability to reducing energy consumption and offering repair and refurbishment services. At the same time, we focus on maintaining an inclusive and supportive workplace by offering training and flexible working arrangements that promote both personal and professional growth.

06.5 Sus 5-Own workforce
Our commitment extends beyond our own operations. We actively support local suppliers to strengthen the regional economy, participate in international precision engineering networks and invest in training young engineers to inspire the next generation of technical talent. For our customers, we ensure product safety and quality through strict standards, transparent communication and traceable metrology expertise, while maintaining the highest ethical and regulatory compliance across our business practices. Guided by our company Code of Conduct, we uphold the highest ethical standards, fully comply with legal and regulatory requirements and promote a culture of trust, integrity and accountability.

06.5 Sus 7-Affected communities

Sustainability is an ongoing process that requires collaboration between employees, customers, suppliers and communities. At IBS Precision Engineering, we are committed to regularly reviewing and improving our practices to remain aligned with evolving global standards. Through innovation and shared responsibility, we continue to work towards a more sustainable future.
