Exploring the precision behind the next generation of telescopes

1 minutes reading - published on October 13, 2026

Last week, professionals from industry, research institutes, and academia came together for the seventh edition of the DSPE Opto-Mechatronics Symposium. This year's theme, 'The opto-mechatronics of telescopes: from tiny to extremely large'.

DSPE Opto-Mech-Symp 2026At our stand, we showcased how our cryogenic capacitive sensor systems contribute to the development of the Einstein Telescope, the future European gravitational wave observatory.

Detecting gravitational waves requires extraordinary measurement precision and extremely stable conditions. Our sensors are used to measure vibrations in a cryogenic cooling system, helping to verify the vibration isolation needed for these highly sensitive measurements.

We were pleased to participate again and share the latest developments we are working on in the field of microscopy, as well as our contribution to the development of the Einstein Telescope in Maastricht. It was a great opportunity to showcase how our precision measurement technology supports demanding scientific and technological developments.
