Christiaan Huygens was an internationally renowned Dutch mathematician, physicist and astronomer. His mathematical work mainly addressed the problems of rectification, quadrature, and cubature. As a mathematical physicist, he worked on mechanics and optics. Huygens’ theory of pendulum motion (oscillation) found practical expression in the pendulum clock. He also constructed telescopes and microscopes, grinding the lenses himself, for use in astronomy and microbiology.

At the cutting edge of accuracy

The Dutch have always been known for attention to detail – it’s in our blood. It was true back in the 17th century and it’s true today. As an authority in the field of precision technology, IBS Precision Engineering is constantly making new advances in the field. Doing so puts us firmly in the tradition of the great Dutch scientists, artists, and philosophers.

It’s in their spirit that we “push the envelope” of precision engineering by setting new standards. All this means that we can provide added value for clients who aren’t interested in merely following familiar, well-trodden paths. We are innovative in the same way as Christian Huygens was with his pendulum clock.
