IBS PRECISION ENGINEERING DELIVERS FIRST ISARA 400 CMM

After an extensive phase of research & development IBS Precision Engineering (headquarters in Eindhoven, the Netherlands) delivered its first Isara 400 ultra precise coordinate measuring machine to IOM Leibniz, a research institute in Germany.

Isara 400 is a multi-probe 3D CMM which takes the measurement of large and complex parts (up to 400 x 400 x 100mm) to the nanometer level. Unique about this measuring machine is its ability to measure complex surfaces like aspheres, free-forms or integrated optics with a measurement uncertainty down to 109 nm in 3D, overcoming the limitations presented by the optical methods or contacting profilers which are currently used. This makes it the most accurate three-dimensional coordinate measuring machine available on the market.

The delivery, which took place on Tuesday November 8th, can be seen as milestone for both IBS Precision Engineering and the entire precision engineering industry, that followed the proceedings in Eindhoven closely.
